Electrical Testing Standards & Service
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has laid down testing standards to allow insulating materials to be compared under identical conditions. Such standards are developed in the national organizations such as the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), the British Standard Institute (BSI), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the Japan Electrical Measuring Instruments Manufacturers Association (JEMIMA).
Other important institutions are the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM International), and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The quality standards of electrical parts are tested by the manufacturers, and in this respect the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) enjoys an internationally recognized position as an independent testing institution.
ELANTAS develops and tests products in its worldwide laboratories in accordance with the international IEEE standards and the UL standards. Since ELANTAS has its own UL laboratory with the Third-Party Test Data Program (TPTDP) certification, we are granted the right to test for any third party and we are therefore in the position to conduct the tests required by our customers to obtain UL certification.
