Solvent based impregnating varnishes are typically resin based materials dissolved in non-reactive, organic solvents.With high tank stability, versatility, excellent film forming ability, good technical performance and a proven track record they remain highly relevant as impregnating materials.

Water based impregnating varnishes are typically modified resin bases, dissolved in water, often with a co-solvent. Emulsion technology is also used for this type of product.
With a low environmental impact these materials are often a good, economical solution when replacing existing solvent based varnish technology.

These products are unsaturated polyester resin bases dissolved in a reactive monomer such as styrene or vinyl toluene. Emissions are reduced in comparison to solvent based varnishes, but are present to a significant level.
These are typically low viscosity and highly reactive materials making them ideal for high productivity processes. With an ability to modify these resins, a range of final properties can also be achieved for any kind of impregnation processing plant.

Low VOC unsaturated polyester resins are unsaturated polyester resin bases dissolved in reactive diluents that are non-volatile. These products provide a significant reduction in emissions compared to varnishes and monomer containing polyester resins, with excellent tank stability and viscosities that require little or no adjustment for existing impregnation processes.
A high filling content in the windings is possible resulting in a high technical performance.

Monomer free resins are specially synthesised unsaturated polyester resins that contain no monomers, solvents or reactive diluents.
They provide a significant reduction in emissions compared to varnishes and monomer containing polyester resins, with excellent tank stability. With a relatively high viscosity, some adjustment to existing equipment and processing may be required.
A high filling content in the windings is possible resulting in a high technical performance.

These products are unsaturated polyester resins pigmented white or black for the impregnation of lighting ballasts used in fluorescent lamps.
Good penetration, filling content and strengthening of the windings results in significant noise reduction.

These are formulated materials, using epoxy resin bases, diluents, catalysts and additives. Products based on this chemistry for impregnating materials are typically low or VOC free meaning emissions are significantly lower in comparison to varnishes and monomer containing products.
Epoxy resins are characterised by excellent tank stability, excellent chemical and moisture resistance with an overall high technical performance.
